Hire

The Ballroom

Situated on the first floor of the Town Hall, the historic Ballroom is conveniently accessible from the front of the building with a stair lift also available (NOTE: this has a maximum load limit of 18 stone)

This is the largest capacity space in the Town Hall at 160sqm and measures 8 x 20m and legally holds a capacity of 110. It comprises of original Victorian architraves, subdued lighting and a fully remote-controlled ceiling blinds, as well as a full CD music system.

The Ballroom is adjacent to the Marion Abbott Suite, which can easily be transformed into a bar area, so the two rooms work well together or separately. The floor is hard wood and is ideal for dancing and sporting activities and is marked out for use as a badminton court. Frequently used by sporting and activity groups this space can easily be transformed by using our 6ft tables and soft seating into a perfect space for functions and parties.

PLEASE NOTE: THE TOWN HALL IS NO LONGER LICENSED AS A VENUE FOR MATRIMONY.

Marion Abbott Suite and Bar

Respectfully named after a missed and well loved member of the community, Town Councillor, character and ardent Shrovetider.

Situated next to the Ballroom on the first floor, this space is decked in hues of cream and burgundy, the civic colours of the town. It is 32sqm and measures 8 x 4m and holds a seated capacity of 35. It comprises of a fully working licensed bar. It is a carpeted room with comfortable leather seating and stools. Perfect for small meetings, intimate gatherings or bar area.
