HOW LONG SERVED ON THE COUNCIL:

I joined the Town Council in 2005 and was re-elected in May 2015 and again in 2019. I serve on, and have been Chair of all three committees during my time with Ashbourne Town Council. I have been Mayor of Ashbourne twice which was a great honour. I am a "hands on" councillor and don't mind getting them dirty when there is work to be done.

BIT ABOUT YOURSELF IE: FAMILY, WORK, HOBBIES ETC:

I was born in 1957. I have lived in Ashbourne all my life. I am a widow with three, lovely grown up children; Lucy and twin boys Oliver & Edward. I worked full time for Social Services as part of the South Derbyshire Assessment Team for adults. My hobbies, outside of family life are my three dogs, walking, bird watching and I also enjoy watching Rugby. I am a passionate supporter of Ashbourne's Royal Shrovetide Game. I love Ashbourne and wouldn't wish to live anywhere else.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT IE: SCHOOL GOVERNOR, OTHER COMMITTEE INVOLVEMENT:

I was treasurer of the Royal British Legion Women's Section for almost 20 years before the group dissolved. I have served as Governor of Hilltop School and was one of the forerunners for the Friendship agreement between Ashbourne and Soisy-Sur-Seine.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO IMPROVE THE COMMUNITY:

I can be a voice for the people of Ashbourne, present their views and their concerns. On their behalf I can convey comments to the District & County Councils giving local knowledge and opinion. I have no desire to join the District Council, so my loyalty to the people of Ashbourne will not be compromised on any issue. I am more than happy to help residents of Ashbourne with enquiries regardless of the ward where they live in.
