Town Hall Renovations
Work will soon be starting on the front of the Town Hall. The scaffolding has gone up, and the green safety netting has been taken down. As well as addressing the stone work, the windows to the front of the Town Hall will also be repaired and have secondary glazing installed. The front doors will be moved forward (to their original position) and secondary glass doors will be put in. The Town Council have accrued over the last three years budgets a sum of £112,000 which they have allocated to the project, this together with a Public Works Loan of £50,000, to be repaid over 3 years. The Town Council have agreed to fund the project this way so that they will not have to increase the precept in order to repay the loan. The work is due to be complete by October, and the contractor is currently sourcing the stone from Stanton Moor quarry. Please note that during renovations to Ashbourne Town Hall, both the building and the Visitor Information Centre are open as usual. The Visitor Information Centre is open Monday-Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday 10am-4pm.
